Who are we?
The Consensus for Change discussion group was born out of a deep concern by citizens of Trinidad and Tobago because of
the ongoing social erosion and decay taking place. We felt that the only way to stem the crisis we are facing at all levels
in our society was to unite the social groups, via dialogue and consensus, and find a common platform. That platform must
be founded on the principles of Peace, Truth, and Humility. Only by dialogue and consensus can we even begin to examine and
get to the many roots of the problems we as a young nation are experiencing.
The political system too has been stretched to capacity and answers to the questions of how and why we are facing a national
crisis and what to do seems out of the hands of the politicians. The problems are social and political. The answers are therefore
social and political. Whilst the politicians seem busy fighting over mundane and trivial matters, the people of Trinidad and
Tobago have been left as bystanders waiting to exhale.
Civil society it seems must unite as a social entity and do what we can to stop the erosion and decay plaguing our great
and beautiful nation. We must awaken society's vastly untapped potential.
Trinidad and Tobago will NOT be destroyed by those who are only interested in putting their self-interests, personal ambition,
and/or party symbol, in front of the NATION.
The society must unite NOW and try our God's best to save our tiny microcosm of 1.3 million people from further crisis.
The social groups can together reshape and redefine our NATION. Let's Aspire and Let's Achieve via a Consensus for Change.
